The Watson Cemetery is quietly nestled on a hilltop in the woods.  Now completely restored through local efforts.  Earliest grave is dated 1844.  J. Watson was helpful in forming our county government; dividing our townships and becoming one of our first judges.
Thank you for your interest in Peaceful Valley Heritage and Preservation of Brown County, Indiana!
There are many ways one can become involved with Peaceful Valley Heritage, including but not limited to:
Participating in monthly meetings which occur the second Tuesday at 6:30.   Respecting the rules of living with Covid we now have Zoom meetings  so please check our Facebook page for updates and links.
Volunteering, we are always looking for help whether it is in our cemetery restoration and cleanup projects or during a celebration of a marker dedication.  Helping hands are always welcome.
Donations of time or money.  We know it is hard to give the time, especially now when life is so hectic, so why not find the time to give?  Your money goes so far when you donate it to PVH.
YOU can do this by giving specifically to our general operating fund or to a specific PVH project.
YOU can donate to the revolving heritage preservation fund,  for low interest loans to individuals who have a financial  need to
      complete their preservation project.
YOU can donate to the fund that is used to hire a professional restoration company for your favorite historical cemetery.
YOUR money can be given through the Brown County Community Foundation to the Peaceful Valley Heritage and Preservation E                  Endowment.

Your time and money is important to you and to PVH.  Saving the history and heritage of Brown County is the responsibility of everyone, not just a few.  How Brown County treats its history and heritage speaks to many; speaks without words when the world can see our buildings still stand, our park is now a national designation, the county has state historical markers, historical cemeteries are being cleaned and restored, our overlook has a vista, our stories are being recorded and through it all we are showing respect to those that settled our county.
